Les élus d'opposition au Département de l'Aveyron entendent faire une proposition pour plus de solidarité au président Arnaud Viala.
Enjoy the « good financial health of the Department to make a gesture towards families ». This is the point defended by the departmental elected officials of the Rodez-1 canton, Sarah Vidal and Arnaud Combet. Ahead of the first plenary session of the Department, scheduled for February 2, these opposition elected officials from the left union group are presenting several measures, aimed at helping households in the face of inflation.
"We have targeted four simple measures, which could be implemented", introduced Sarah Vidal. Among them, progressive pricing of meals in college canteens. System implemented in several communities, while the Department chooses a fixed price of 3.08 €.
"Allowing Aveyron residents to reduce bills"
A similar proposal is also made for accommodation prices in nursing homes, which they would also like to be progressive according to income. "Then, to enable Aveyron residents to reduce their energy bills, we would like to offer assistance to individuals for renovation work", they say. A proposal which comes the day after the announcements by Bruno Lemaire, Minister of the Economy, announcing an increase of around 9% in the cost of electricity as of February 1. "Everything is increasing and people are forced to reduce their spending to adapt", supports Sarah Vidal.
And precariousness is increasing. At the forefront are social associations such as the Restos du coeur or the Food Bank, experiencing an exponential increase in the number of beneficiaries, even though their finances are increasingly limited. "We would like our subsidies to be indexed to inflation", argue the duo. Will these proposals be heard ? To be continued on February 2, when the budget is examined.
