This Saturday, June 15, the mayor of Vallauris, in the Alpes-Maritimes, refused to unite a young couple. In question, the behavior of the guests before the ceremony.

A young couple was to get married last weekend at Vallauris town hall. However, the civil registrar refused to marry them and formalize their union. At the beginning of the afternoon, the deputy mayor canceled the wedding for disturbing the public order of the procession, according to France 3.

"This is not acceptable"

We are talking about "mortar fire in town, rodeos, fires that were burned with endangerment to the lives of others. This is not acceptable", says Kevin Luciano, the mayor of Vallauris.

"We blocked the roundabouts a little. By the time I parked, it blocked the road a little, but it didn" ;rsquo;there were no traffic jams", admits the groom.

When he went up to pick up his wife, some of his relatives set off mortar fire and smoke bombs. The scene was filmed by a neighbor. "I’said: stop! And they stopped, he assures. But there was no damage."

Strangers in the procession

The groom also assures that several people got into the procession: "There are people I didn't know at all" .

Among those present that day, several guests were fined and a report from the municipal police is awaited. The mayor of Vallauris, however, clarifies to our colleagues that this is not a lifetime ban and leaves the door open to a new marriage.
