The gusts that swept through Quebec on Thursday, have caused numerous power outages, especially in Montreal, in the Laurentians, and Montérégie.
In the metropolis, 56 169 homes were without electricity about 15 h, that is 7000 less than an hour earlier.
Hydro-Québec also reported on its website numerous failures in the Laurentians (17 395), in the Montérégie region (13 569) and the Outaouais (8828).
Lanaudière (5124) was not in rest, as Laval (3772).
All of Québec’s regions were affected in the afternoon, with a total of 112 373 outages, but some areas were much less affected.
“Our editors are mobilized and are already working to restore the service, said the company State on its website. However, the winds intensify still further complicate the task. We thank you for your patience.”
According to Environment Canada, winds from the south-west 40 km/h gusting to 70 km/h were expected on Thursday in several regions.
