There are no tickets to have your property appraised at Crédit Municipal

This Friday, September 6, more than 20 Gardois had their valuables appraised at the Crédit municipal in preparation for the auction on December 13 at the Musée de la Romanité.

The major annual auction event at the Crédit municipal de Nîmes is scheduled for December 13. Valuables and jewelry will be sold at the Musée de la Romanité.

In anticipation, the Crédit municipal de Nîmes organized this Friday, September 6, in its premises, 8 rue Guizot, a day during which everyone could freely come and have their goods valued.

The opportunity to take out your long-forgotten pieces from the attic and try to give them a second life while replenishing your bank account. By having the possibility of offering their objects for sale as collateral through public auctions, interested parties benefit from greater visibility, with a presence on the global market via the Interenchères website. An additional possibility to increase the final sale price of the object.

Full house for this day of expertise

On site, Franck Puaux, one of the two auctioneers who are partners of the Crédit municipal, examines the items that the people of Gard present to them every quarter of an hour. “We are completely full”, rejoices Annie Morieras, coordinator of pawn loans for the four Occitan branches of the Crédit municipal. “This day dedicated to the appraisal in preparation for the auction is highly anticipated. People are curious to know how much they can get for this or that item.”

Luxury watches, coins, jewelry and even paintings. No fewer than 22 objects pass through the expert hands of the auctioneer. “The surprise of the day is an automaton dating from the middle of the 20th century”, smiles Franck Puaux.“The figurine is very original. It is a magician who lifts pots in which different objects are hidden. It is rare to find this kind of piece. The only downside is that the period costumes are in poor condition, which could make the object lose value."

"I saw right away that my object interested them"

While waiting to find out if he agrees to sell his magician at auction, Christian Varnizy leaves the Crédit Municipal with 500 euros. "Not enough to go to Mauritius, but it's already “that” , laughs the new Nîmes resident, owner of a large collection of objects related to magic. “I was part of the magician duo Chris & Rick for a long time. My partner died and I came to settle in Nîmes. I discovered this day of expertise on Facebook and I came to find out more. I immediately saw that they were interested when they discovered my automaton".

After an initial observation, Franck Puaux estimates the object as accurately as possible based on "its era, its state of conservation and its value on the second-hand market and past sales". A thousand euros, that's what the expert tells Christian for his automaton.

If his decision is not yet completely made, the magician is seriously considering offering his item at the auction on December 13th, " as the sale is open internationally via the website, the price can be much higher. And that wouldn't be refused !"
