They demonstrate in front of the sub-prefecture of Béziers for peace in Israel and Palestine

Communist Party, La France insoumise, CGT, FSU… Representatives and sympathizers of the different militant structures demonstrated this Saturday, January 13, in front of the Béterroise sub-prefecture. 

This Saturday, January 13, in front of the sub-prefecture of Béziers, around sixty demonstrators responded to the call of the PCF, LFI, FSU and CGT for, among others , "request a ceasefire" in the war between Israel and Hamas.

The communist Jean-Marc Biau opened the speeches by recalling "solidarity" of the PC towards the Palestinian people. "We have been demonstrating for more than three months (…) We call for peace in Israel and Palestine, in Gaza and the West Bank. We still demand an immediate, total and permanent ceasefire." And the activist refers to the war that Russia is waging against  Ukraine. "How is it that economic sanctions were taken in a few weeks against Putin's Russia and, on the other hand, no sanctions are taken against the Russian state' Israel, which commits war crimes, attacks the civilian population in a totally disproportionate manner and pursues a policy of ethnic cleansing ?"

Then Julien Rader, for the CGT, Magali Crozier for La France insoumise and Christophe Benoît for the FSU spoke, each in turn developing the same common thread: that of' a defense of the "oppressed" Palestinian people; and "massacred". 

Everyone made an appointment  Thursday, January 18, at 6 p.m., in front of the sub-prefecture, "for a torchlight procession", and Sunday, January 21, at  11 a.m., "against the anti-republican law on the law asylum and immigration. 

The demonstrators then marched through the city center of Béziers.
