In the middle of the day this Sunday, August 4, in a street near the Alès town hall, Max Roustan, a professional beekeeper (even retired), decided to treat some of his empty hives, stored in a garage. A sulfur vapor treatment, preventive against the moth known as the false moth, an insect that ravages the wax of the combs.

No injuries or major damage

Despite all the precautions taken, a fire broke out in the cellar shortly after the mayor left the room. The smoke spread to the other levels of the building.

Very quickly, the firefighters intervened and managed to put out the fire. No one was injured in the fire, and very little material damage was reported. A truck with a large ladder was deployed to allow firefighters to intervene.
