UPDATE DAY
The Canadiens extended their winning streak to three after returning from vacation, shutting out the Chicago Blackhawks 4-0 on Tuesday in Montreal.
After two hard-fought periods, Martin St-Louis' squad got going in the third period with three goals. The match was thus beyond the reach of Luke Richardson's team, which was returning to the Bell Center after having been the assistant to the last three CH pilots.
Jake Allen blocked 19 pucks, while opposite Jaxson Stauder suffered his first career loss in his fourth start after giving up four times on 31 shots.
Jonathan Drouin once again shined with three assists. He has nine in his last six outings.

It was the first goal since Jan. 7 for Armia, who missed nearly a month of activity between his two most recent successes. Jonathan Drouin collected his 11th assist in his last 12 games on the streak.
David Savard and Christian Dvorak then hit the target in an interval of 53 seconds before the end of the game.< /p>

Justin Barron was the first scorer of the game, hitting the target in the first period. He became only the second guard, after Arber Xhekaj, to shine the red light on the power play this season. It was also his second goal of the campaign, the first having occurred on Saturday against the New York Islanders.
At a glance
Josh Anderson is having some good times these days. He had four goals and seven points in his last nine games. On Tuesday, it was rather to team spirit that he contributed by coming to the defense of his captain Nick Suzuki, hard – but legally – tackled by Connor Murphy. However, he received a 17-minute penalty at the end of his fight.
Ma faith in God…. What's gotten into Josh Anderson?!? Unrecognizable for a few games. Hands off the captain 🐎 pic.twitter.com/usarGGfOkF

For the Blackhawks, Seth Jones played his 700th career game. He has so far totaled 76 goals, 361 points and a differential of -88.
Another visitors guard, former Canadian Jarred Tinordi, left the game in the first period. Injured, he did not return to action afterwards.
The Habs will resume action on Thursday by visiting the Carolina Hurricanes.
