Six artistes femmes se sont regroupées à l’espace Félix, 2 quai Général-Durand, pour une vente d’œuvres entièrement au profit de SOS Méditerranée.
"It’is important to give meaning to our artistic activity." Si the works presented at the Félix space by the six women artists brought together as a collective to support SOS Méditerranée are not directly inspired by the action of the association, the cause of migrants nevertheless remain the driving force of their creative process. "This puts us in a state of creativity", testifies Isabelle de Grandmaison, at the initiative of the project, who is invested in the association for more than five years.
"We do not stick to a particular theme because that blocks us", she explains. In total, several dozen productions, ceramics, metal sculptures, paintings and even inks, will be offered for sale as part of this exhibition, which will take place from March 23 to April 1, every day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. All entirely for the benefit of the SOS Méditerranée association.
4 500 euros raised two years ago
"I find it great that artists give their time and their works for this cause", s& ;rsquo;enthusiasm Isabelle. "The aim is also to talk about the action of the association and to raise public awareness through videos and leaflets that we will distribute in the space from the gallery", she specifies.
Two years ago, still as part of the arrival of SOS Méditerranée at Escale in Sète, the collective which then only had two artists managed to collect 4 500 euros thanks to the sale of their works. This year, the six artists (three painters, two sculptors and a ceramist) represented are: Martine Beziac, Annie Mahé-Gibert, Isabelle de Grandmaison, Odile Villa, Gislaine Marro and Michèle Suquet. The price of the works is set between 100 and 900 euros and the opening will take place this March 22 at 6:30 p.m.
