The Arlesian bullfighter and the adopted Biterrois are among the 23 candidates chosen to compete for victory in the very popular competition in the Madrid Region. A unique opportunity to fight up to five bullfights in front of the Spanish cameras and win a place at the end of the season in Las Ventas.
 

Most bullfighters who do not enjoy figura status mostly apply for the Copa Chenel organized by the « Comunidad » from Madrid. A very popular competition because its former triumphants like Fernando Adrian, Borja Jimenez or Issac Fonseca (the last winner) have gained a coveted status in escalafon to secure a place in the Ferias.

Since its creation in 2021 to offer opportunities to breeders and bullfighters in the Madrid region, it has earned its reputation after three editions.

This year, the Copa Chenel will gain in density since international bullfighters will participate (France, Mexico, Peru, Portugal) in this 4th edition even if the premiere remains given to local ganaderias. It will consist of 14 bullfights and there will be 29 different irons with young bullfighters who will compete with more experienced ones.

Seven classification bullfights will take place from March 2 to 23 in bullrings in the Madrid Region, then the three races of the second phase will take place from April 6 to May 4. Then two semi-finals will take place on June 15 and 22 before the three-way final on June 29. A mano a mano between the two best finalists will determine the 2024 champion on June 30 after completing a total of five paseos.

The classification bullfight cartels will be known on Friday February 16 after a sorteo of bullfighters and ganaderias.

The winner will be entered for a bullfight in Las Ventas at the end of the year in October.
