Threatened with transfers, teachers at La Royale d’Alès school demonstrate with parents

Eight teachers at the school should be transferred, against their will, from the next school year.

The batucada orchestra present was so loud that some passers-by thought they were hearing a carnival. However, it is a serious mobilization that once again experienced rue Pasteur in Alès, this Thursday, April 4 at 5 p.m.

In front of the building of the academic inspection premises, teachers, students and parents of students of the Louis Leprince-Ringuet school, in the La Royale district demonstrated to protest against the announced transfer of the entire teaching staff of the school – i.e. eight teachers – from the next school year.

"Participate in the movement"

"On March 27, we were received one by one at the academic management in Nîmes", testifies one of the eight teachers concerned. The summons follows the mention of dysfunctions between the teaching team concerned and the director of the establishment, in office since September. "They invited us to participate in the movement", continues the teacher, who translates the term by evoking mutations towards d&rsquo ;other schools. "In the end, they told us that they could not exclude transferring us in the interest of the service. For me it’s a forced transfer, a sanction, whereas that’ is not the case."

Concerns also concern school children, some of whom were present to provide support, "renewing an entire teaching team is not trivial , a school is being built."

The group, like the parents of students present, believes that the decision is also a response to the support expressed for the former director, Maxime Tatry, targeted by a complaint, in 2022 , by an academy inspector. Complaint which has since been closed without further action. Maxime Tatry subsequently resigned from National Education. The teachers of the school intend, very soon, to take steps with the rector of the academy.
