Chicoutimian Jeff Simard-Gagnon faces eight counts of knowingly threatening police, pregnant women, the Jewish community and the black people.
The 27-year-old from Coulombe Street in Chicoutimi was arrested Tuesday night after writing disturbing comments on social networks like Facebook.
Simard-Gagnon said he wanted to burst the head of all the beautiful people he seemed to want.
It was police officers from Quebec City who noticed the threatening remarks of the individual and passed on the information to their colleagues at the Saguenay Public Security (SPS).
Gagnon-Simard, whose interests are defended by Olivier Théorêt of Legal Aid, is also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon without the necessary license, improperly storing the firearm and to have in his possession when it was forbidden him. He also broke a probation for a case dating back to February 29, 2016.
To return to Tuesday night’s events, SPS patrolmen were able to trace the individual in the area of JR Théberge Street in Chicoutimi.
He did not resist his arrest. He was taken to SPS Headquarters where he was interrogated for part of the night and was taken to the Chicoutimi Courthouse on Wednesday morning.
More details to come.
