The Rangers found in one of the parks near the Darwin dead Python Morelia spilota. From the normal individuals it is distinguished by the presence on his forehead the third eye.
The simplest explanation could be polycephaly. This phenomenon, in which embryonic stage is a developmental disorder – for example, “engulfing” one twin another, and the result is the individual with the “extra” head. However, x-ray examination showed the Python to the presence of another head. His skull was more eye socket, but the cause of this structure remains unclear.
Advantages of reptiles is not allowed: the media of any variation in the wild don’t live long. The evolutionary path of every living creature formed its anatomy, it is necessary for this species, and all excess becomes an obstacle: the impact on the body in expulsion from the society of their own kind, the inability to continue the race and so on.
Probably for this reason, the three-eyed specimen died at a young age. But even the fact that Python died just after birth from an egg, and he lived a relatively long fascinated scientists.
