Tiger Woods sneaks into Masters final rounds

AUGUSTA | Tiger Woods will soon have to offer good food to his good friend Justin Thomas. Thanks to the latter, the Tiger managed to sneak into the final rounds of the Masters Tournament.
The 47-year-old golfer hit the course at Augusta National at 8 a.m. this morning to complete his second round.
Two bogeys in a row, at the 17th and 18th pennants, were to eject him from the top 50 due to a cumulative record of +3. At the time of his last putt, the Masters ax was placed at +2.
He was therefore in danger of missing the final rounds for the first time in his professional career, he who had 22 in a row.
The Woods' fate was therefore in the hands of Justin Thomas and Sungjae Im, just ahead of him at +2. Thomas also committed a bogey in the 17th and moved the cleaver line to +3. But he added another in the 18th by coming out of the final rounds completely with his cumulative record of +4 for the first time in his eight appearances in Augusta.
“I love this course and participating in this tournament. Obviously, I missed a few editions due to my injuries, but I still want to play it as much, said the golfer with the five green jackets in the pouring rain, in the middle of the morning.
< p>“I now have a chance to play the weekend rounds.”
It's been a duck since the sunrise in Augusta. The mercury drastically dropped to around 10 degrees Celsius after a few days when it hit near 30 degrees.
The line of thunderstorms that swept across eastern Georgia yesterday afternoon is responsible.
During the third round still on the schedule today, the rain will continue to bother the 54 golfers who resisted the ax. More than 20 mm of rain is expected this afternoon.
Sustained winds will blow up to 30 km/h as the gusts of wind are expected to reach 50 km/h.
