L'adjointe au commerce défend un moyen "de protéger les commerces alentours".

As part of its actions in favor of the revitalization of the city center, and in order to perpetuate quality commercial diversity in the Ecusson, the City of Nîmes indicates in a press release that it has chosen to pre-empt commercial premises located at 9 rue Général-Perrier "in order to prevent the installation of a gold repurchase activity".

Second action of this type

« Once again, we wanted to demonstrate our attachment to the commerciality of the city center by pre-empting premises located on rue Général-Perrier. In order to maintain quality brands, it is essential to remain vigilant, and when we can, to prevent the proliferation of fast fashion, fast food restaurants or unchosen ephemeral businesses. It’s also a way of supporting the surrounding stores,” says Valentine Wolber, deputy responsible for shops, commercial activities and the revitalization of the city center.

The pre-empted location is the former premises occupied by the company Happy by Clipso, located in a premium environment, in direct proximity to the Descamps, Swarovski, Aubade, Ba&sh, Souleiado brands. .. It has a commercial area of approximately 25m2 and 20m2 in reserve, informs the City, which has preempted the goodwill only, and not the commercial premises. The signing was carried out for an amount of &28,000 €. It now has two years to proceed with the retrocession of the commercial lease with a brand that will respect the authorized activities: retail sale of ready-to-wear, leather goods, decoration, fashion accessories, perfumery items as well as household linen.

This is the 2nd time that the City has asserted its right of pre-emption. In December 2021, it acquired the business of the Pink Shoes brand, already on rue Général Perrier, to facilitate the installation of the company Provency, which operates the premises under mixed brands: Banana Moon and Pyrenex.

A call for applications will be published at the beginning of April, on the Nimes.fr website, section « Commerce ». More information from the Commerce Department: 04 66 76 71 72 or direction-commerce@nimes.fr
