Top 10: our most viewed test drives in 2020

The Car guide publishes hundreds of test drives every year. Despite the slowdown linked to the pandemic in 2020, we continued to drive vehicles in Quebec and to give you our impressions in our dedicated section.

As we are about to turn the page on this strange year that will have been 2020, the Car Guide team offers you a list of the 10 most viewed road tests on our site this year.

Among the manufacturers represented in this ranking, we obviously find generalists like Kia, Toyota or Subaru. But there are also models beyond the reach of ordinary people like the superb Ferrari Roma. Further proof, if there was one, that dream cars continue to intrigue!

10. Subaru Crosstrek

In tenth place is the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek, in its Outdoor version with a 2.5-liter engine. Thanks to this more efficient engine, Subaru is further expanding its offer in order to reach a greater number of buyers. In this Outdoor version, the Crosstrek convinced us, and many of you wanted to know more about it.

9. Toyota RAV4 hybrid

The Toyota RAV4 was voted the Car Guide’s 2021 Best Buy in the compact SUV category. Its hybrid version is an excellent compromise since it consumes less than the gasoline model, is quieter in use and even offers a slight increase in performance thanks to its electric motor.

8. GMC Yukon Denali

Eighth place goes to the GMC Yukon, in its top-of-the-range Denali version. A juggernaut greedy in fuel and not really reasonable. But let’s face it, General Motors did a very good job renewing its full-size SUV.

7. Toyota RAV4 Prime

The Toyota RAV4, very popular in Quebec, adds a string to its bow with the new Prime plug-in hybrid version. Thanks to significantly increased performance, acceleration is the liveliest of the entire Toyota range, with the exception of the GR Supra. And with 68 kilometers of theoretical autonomy, it is possible to run on electricity and make substantial savings at the pump.

6. Ferrari Roma

While the other models in this Top10 are mostly big sellers, here is an exotic car invited to our ranking. Superbly designed, embodying the grand touring car par excellence, the Ferrari Roma can also count on its fiery engine to speed up 0-100 km / h in just 3.4 seconds!

5.Ram 1500 TRX

After the Charger, the Challenger, the Grand Cherokee and the Durango, FCA has decided to place its famous Hellcat engine under the hood of the Ram 1500. Heir to the SRT-10 powered by the Viper’s V10, the new TRX offers all-round performance. simply mind-boggling for a truck of this size.

4. Tesla Model Y

A compact, all-electric SUV closely derived from the Model 3, the Model Y was eagerly awaited this year. Thanks to its hatchback format more practical than the sedan, its lightning performance and its on-board technology, it combines qualities. However, certain inherent defects of Tesla remain on board this new vehicle.

3. Kia Seltos

On the last step of the podium, we find the Kia Seltos. New subcompact SUV from the Korean brand, it offers a larger size than most of its competitors, a large trunk, a spacious cabin and sufficiently efficient engines. Rather well equipped for the price paid, it has what buyers are looking for at the moment.

2. Kia Stinger

The second place is again occupied by a Kia, but the result is more surprising. Indeed, the Kia Stinger is nothing new this year. In addition, its sales remain low despite its dynamic qualities, its complete equipment and its well-placed price. This is why we wrote the following title: Unfairly Shunned.

1. Kia K5

Replacing the Optima, the new K5 stands out in the mid-size sedan segment thanks to its recognizable lines. Love it or hate it, we have to recognize that the manufacturer dares to stand out. We were surprised that this was the most read test this year, with SUVs breaking sales records while middlemen struggled to find buyers. With three Kias in the first three places, it is in any case a full box for the Korean manufacturer in our ranking!
