Tour de France 2024: the TotalEnergies team has 11 bikes stolen from the hotel, damage estimated at more than 150,000 euros

The French team TotalEnergies, which is taking part in the Tour de France, had eleven bicycles robbed during the night of Wednesday 10 to Thursday 12 July. The damage was worth over 150,000 euros.

It must have been a difficult awakening. The TotalEnergies team had a nasty surprise when they woke up to find that eleven bicycles had been stolen during the night from Wednesday to Thursday. An alarm sounded the alarm.

The theft included the main bikes of Anthony Turgis, winner on Sunday in, and Thomas Gachignard. The winner of the 9th stage in no longer has a spare bike, which could be a problem for the future.

A complaint filed

Costing €14,000 each, the damage from the stolen bikes is estimated at €154,000. Toolboxes were also stolen. The French team was staying at the Lioran, a hotel shared with the Uno X and Israel Premier Tech teams.

The mechanics have spare frames and will be able to count on the help of the other teams. The team based in Vendée will also bring back bikes from the West for Thursday or Friday. The complaint has been filed.
