Traffic jams with one-way traffic

Cars stopped for long minutes.

The traffic trial, which has been one-way since July 22nd on the Tire-Cul (for the ascent) and Mas-de-Balan (for the descent) roads, gave rise, particularly during the feria period, to disruptions deemed catastrophic by the users interviewed.

Examples ? On Thursday September 12th, in the late afternoon, it took a good thirty minutes to get from the bottom of the Alès road to the Octroi roundabout, it barely more than a kilometer. “The traffic jam on this very busy road extended all the way to Avenue Georges-Pompidou, said a driver who regularly made this journey. This has never been seen before, a real disaster. ” The next day, also around 5 p.m., a user said “it took him exactly thirty minutes to get from Place Paul-Valéry to the bottom of Chemin du Mas-de-Balan, where it meets the Route d’Alès.” Around 7pm, traffic was still very slow, even completely at a standstill at certain times.

And we could see that the stranded motorists seemed to be patient. But how long will this patience last? ? They have no choice for now. It will be at least until October 22: this experiment by the City is scheduled to last about three months.
