On Monday and Tuesday, a thirty-year-old will face the magistrates of the Gard departmental criminal court for rape, kidnapping and sequestration of a prostitute. The facts alleged against the accused are said to have occurred in Moulézan on the evening of February 10, 2022. The accused will be tried on Monday and Tuesday before the criminal court. He appears with 10 convictions on his criminal record, including a case of violence against a “sex worker”.
It was a motorist who found a naked woman on the side of the road near Crespian in the Alès region and more precisely between Vic-le-Fesq and Montmirat. The scene took place in the early evening, on February 10, 2022. The driver discovered a woman almost completely naked. A few moments earlier, he had witnessed part of the assault.
The victim had injuries and traces of dirt. A few moments before, he allegedly saw a man punch a woman before leaving in his car. It turns out that this woman is involved in prostitution and she explains that she has just been attacked by a client. She managed to note the license plate of the car and gave it to the motorist who had just come to her aid. The police were notified and an investigation was immediately opened to identify the alleged attacker and reconstruct the scenario of the evening. The complainant explained that she was a “sex worker” who was the victim of a violent assault against the backdrop of a paid sexual relationship.
Dispute over payment for the pass
According to her version, she indicated that the individual wanted to obtain certain sexual acts that she did not perform. Furthermore, she explained that her client quickly became violent and even tried to strangle her while she was prostituting herself on the side of a road between Montmirat and Moulézan. An argument reportedly broke out over the money that was to be paid by the customer who was reportedly reluctant to pay.
Then the argument allegedly escalated and the woman found herself beaten, tied up and thrown into the trunk of her client's car. It was only a few moments later that she allegedly managed to free herself from her bonds and escape from the vehicle in a hurry and seek help from a motorist.
The police managed to identify the alleged perpetrator of the assault and arrest him on February 11, 2022. He explained that the situation had degenerated because of the sexual service. On the one hand, the prostitute did not realize what he expected, on the other hand, she did not want to reimburse him the 40 euros for the pass. According to him, an argument broke out over the money he was hoping to get back, but that overall the physical violence was linked to the aggressive attitude of the prostitute who scratched and bit him.
In a second instance, he allegedly admitted to pushing her into the trunk during an argument, but he denied forcing her to have sex. According to the woman, the sexual act dragged on even though her client did not want to end it.
He admits to the violence, not the rape
The prostitute accuses her client of rape. For his part, he admits to the violence and the kidnapping but he formally denies having imposed a sexual act. Contacted this Saturday, September 7, Me Baptiste Scherrer, Christopher T.'s lawyer, stated that he preferred to reserve his explanations for the criminal court and not to speak before the hearing scheduled for Monday, September 9 and Tuesday, September 10. Christopher T. appears with 10 convictions on his criminal record, including one for violence perpetrated on a prostitute in 2018.
