Попытка найти стабильность в абсолютно нестабильном мире: в Харькове стартовала вторая Биеннале молодого искусства

In Kharkov, started the second national Biennale of young art

More than a year of preparation, 55 Ukrainian artists, 45 art projects in the core program 16 locations – all in order to Biennale for young art in Kharkov represented Ukrainian artists to the guests and residents of the city.

By the way, find out how was the film festival in Odessa:

Kharkov is the second city after Kiev, which took part in the biggest urban cultural project. This step is very important in the framework of the announced government cultural decentralization. The young artists presented a wide range of new modern forms of visual art: paintings, installations, accompanied by audio and visual effects, sculptures and performances. Besides the program works for children, where young artists present their art achievements. Artists of the older generation represented in the parallel program.

The theme of the Biennale this year: “I Think I go into our garden”, and the map events is a metaphor, a Botanical garden and an invitation to travel to Kharkov. In an era of uncertainty, unpredictability and anthropolo – each can only control yourself and only affect what subject himself. Daily stress and multitasking make people more vulnerable and irritable, and this negatively affects the relations with the surrounding world. Why everyone needs a personal garden where he can relax from the hustle and himself to do something for this world. At this time, the body will relax and you’ll produce dopamine, which is responsible for the feeling of happiness. The artist is also a kind of gardener, who creates his own miniature world and inviting others to look at him.

How to look at the world a new generation of creators of Ukrainian visual art? At the opening of our journalists an exclusive spoke with participants in large scale events.

Nina Murashkina, a draft of “Lysistrata”

“Lysistrata – the first feminist in the history of literature. Invented it and created a Greek philosopher Aristophanes in a Comedy about how a strong woman persuades the other inhabitants of the island to organize a strike to stop the war. And women got it – that’s what I told in his songs. By the way, we had some problems with the placement of the work in the premises of the hotel “Kharkiv”, but talented architects working in the team of organizers, rebuilt the premises to the needs of each artist. For us, built a new wall and it is very good when you prepare the site, not the galleries first, examine the space, I think the meters. The atmosphere of a world when you feel like a God. I worked on the project for about six months. Pleased that today we received so many visitors – fresh blood that is willing to consume Ukrainian art is very energizing”.

Konstantin Zorkin, the “Premise”

“The name of my installation taken from the work of Velimir Khlebnikov poet-futurist, which, incidentally, also lived in Kharkov. But I was not specifically inspired by his poetry and poetry in General. My installation looks like a shaman object, and also resembles a kind of garden: it consists of elements made of wood: minimalist sculptures of different lengths. They hang in space, giving the appearance of flow, and each of them are made notches, although they did not measure – it is only an illusion. Work just about the nonlinearity of time, that we are not immune. I am pleased that at the Biennale I saw a lot of my colleagues, I noticed a General trend: we all first searched for the essence, and then to come up with how to implement it”.

Anna Shumskaya, a series of works “the Garden of virtual colonizers”

“The images found in the Internet, space landscapes, screenshots of profiles of Dating sites where people very strange way to position themselves in the 21st century cyber warfare reigns. It is possible to observe how the social networks people colonize informational space your photos, questionable news and too much information becomes too much. Further, this conquest will only continue. I wanted to show what the virtual world began to live people. On this topic, I have been working for more than six months. Such a large-scale Biennale in Kharkov is for the first time, and everything is organized very well, I liked the selection of unusual locations to work. We have no art markets, people hardly perceive contemporary art and it is therefore important to hold such events”.

The organizers have chosen an exclusive location for exhibitions, where before I could not get all, for example, Gosprom in Kharkiv. Space, which became an exhibition at the Central local of the hotel was not even used for 10 years. Among other original locations: the Observatory and the Botanical garden of the national University.

The exhibition in the historic case hotel “Kharkiv” will be opened from 11:00 to 20:00 daily, there will be 28 projects from the main program. The entrance is through the archway for city cafe “Harek” the street Trinkler.
