Le comité d’organisation a communiqué, ce dimanche, sur l’affluence record de ces Jeux. Londres et ses 10,9 millions de billets sont battus.

A few hours before the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games, the Paris 2024 organizing committee has announced the attendance recorded for the various events since July 24, the day of the first matches of these Olympic Games. In total “9.5 million tickets were sold for the Olympic Games, 2.5 million for the Paralympic Games”. That is 12 million tickets sold over the two sessions.

These figures allow the Paris 2024 Games to set a new ticketing record. Until then, London had attracted the most people to the stands, 10.9 million people to be precise. The British capital still holds a record, that of tickets sold for the Paralympic Games with 2.7 million tickets.

The Olympic Games effect

As in London, the Olympic Games effect has enabled Paris to boost ticket sales for the Paralympics. 1.5 million tickets have been purchased since August and it was mainly a French audience that came to extend the party in the stands of the various events.

If Paris 2024 had already made its mark in the history of the Olympic Games for the beauty of its sites, this figure officially marks the success of the French edition. Until 2028?
