Bank cards, pairs of glasses, cash, jewelry, two computers, a television… Recently, two homeless Moroccans aged 18 and 23, in an irregular situation on national territory, appeared at the hearing of the Montpellier judicial court.

Arrested on February 2, they were charged with preventing attempted break-ins and thefts, caravan thefts, concealment of theft and aggravated violence in meetings (use of a gas during a meeting). ;burglary). That is to say around fifteen crimes in total, committed between December 24 and February 2 in the municipalities of Lattes and Pérols.

Accusations refuted outright

Questioned about his involvement, the eldest denied everything outright. As for the youngest, he explained that he arrived in France on February 1st. Although he admitted to stealing gloves and a hat from a car left open, he refuted the rest, saying he had been in Spain until then.

Versions confirmed by Master Cyrille Boubanga who spoke "of a poorly put together investigation leading to a taste of unfinished business".But also by Maître Hocine Baghdadi who spoke to him about "doubt",  mentioning that&# One of the victims had first formally recognized another person as being the author, on a photographic board, before my client was arrested. Then she finally turned around".

Residency ban in France

However, the magistrates did not hear it the same way and sentenced the two defendants to prison. The oldest, with a record showing four convictions (break-in, deception, aggravated and violent theft), received twenty-four months with continued detention.

His sidekick, with a clean record, ten months in prison, again with a committal warrant. Please note that upon their release from prison, both will be banned from entering French territory for a period of five years.
