Two serious accidents involving motorcyclists have occurred a few hours apart on Thursday, Rimouski and Quebec city. In both cases, the drivers of the motorcycles were seriously injured and there is always a fear for the life of one of them.
The first accident occurred at about 16h on route 132 in Rimouski, the Pointe-au-Père. A motorist who was coming out of a parking lot to engage in boulevard Sainte-Anne has never saw the motorcyclist, who was unable to avoid the impact.
“He hit the side rear of the car and he was ejected under the force of the impact,” said sergeant Claude Denis of the Sûreté du Québec.
Seriously injured, the motorcyclist was transported to a hospital in the Quebec city region. According to the latest information, the man in the late thirties was still in a state of “critical, but stable”.
Loss of control in Quebec city
The second accident is occurred in the region of Quebec in the late evening. At 22: 30, a motorcyclist reportedly lost control of his sled on the highway, Laurentian north, at the height of the exit Jean-Talon.
It would have then been struck by a motorist who was travelling in the same direction.
“The man suffered significant injuries, but we aren’t afraid for his life,” said the sergeant Denis.
These accidents, in addition to a balance sheet already dark for the riders of the province. As the month of June draws to an end, several accidents have already occurred on the territory of the SQ, of which only five last weekend.
Two of them have been fatal, to Frelishburg the Montérégie, Sainte-Perpétue, in Centre-du-Québec. A young man of 18 years also lost their lives in Lévis earlier this week after crashing into a viaduct.
