Here is good news for the video game industry in Quebec, the Ubisoft group's RADAR investment fund has designated five independent studios to receive $1.45 million in financial assistance.
The projects selected in the first phase are:
- TimeMelters by AutoExec Games
- King of the Hat by Hat Games
- Project Revolution by Studio Imugi
- This Bed we Made by Lowbirth Games
- Two Falls by Unreliable Narrators Games
In addition to the funds allocated to each, these five studios will be able to benefit from personalized support with internal experts and external partners.
This fund aims to support them at the time of start-up, development or commercialization of their video games.
The criteria sought to access the fund are commercial potential, feasibility, the ability to deliver the games and the availability of human resources to carry out the project.
For the director of entrepreneurship Olivier Delisle at Ubisoft, “the Ubisoft RADAR fund allows independent video game studios in Quebec to have access to venture capital while maintaining full intellectual property of their creation. We are very proud to encourage creativity in the industry and thus contribute to the success of our ecosystem.”
