The only Ukrainian scientific-research ship “the Seeker” begins works on search of oil and gas in the North-Western Black sea shelf.
As reported in the press service of the state service of Geology and mineral resources of Ukraine, the expedition of the “Seeker” will last 15 days. Work will be performed within Chilia-Snake ledge of the Krylovsky trough.
According to the state service, while the southern region of Ukraine remains the least studied shelf of the Black sea developed only by 4%.
At the end of November 2016, “the Finder” held the first stage of the offshore operations in the North-Western Black sea shelf. As scholars have noted, the gas reserves amount to at least 40 billion cubic meters of gas in the area of 7 thousand square meters.
