31-year-old Ukrainian Andrei Cimac received at the international competition for Opera singing BBC Cardiff Singer of the World main prize – a statuette “the Best Opera singer in the world” and cash voznagrazhenie to 20 thousand pounds. Reported by the BBC.

It is worth noting that the competition was attended by more than 400 singers, and in the qualifying round there were 20 participants from 15 countries. The final included five participants and was won by the Ukrainian baritone. In the finals Andrew Cimac performed plays by Georges Bizet, Rachmaninoff and Gaetano Donizetti.
“The dream literally became a reality. I remember in my youth watching this contest, and even could not dream about what would be in it, not to mention a victory”, – said KIMAK.
The competition BBC Cardiff Singer of the World (Cardiff voice) – international competition of Opera singers, which takes place every two years in the British city of Cardiff. It is considered the most prestigious contest for Opera singing among young singers aged from 18 to 32 years.
Andrew Cimac a native of Kryzhopol in Vinnytsia region. Graduated from the philosophy faculty of the University. Shevchenko and vocal and conducting faculty of the National music Academy of Ukraine named. P. I. Tchaikovsky. His last mentor was Vladimir Grishko.
From 2016 to 2018 CEMAC was the soloist in the Kherson regional Philharmonic society and was an artist of the Youth Opera program of the Bolshoi theatre.
