Up to 3,200 jobs could be eliminated: what we know about the Casino reorganization plan presented this Wednesday

Between 1,293 and 3,267 positions could be eliminated within the Casino group, one of the big names in French distribution, the company announced on Wednesday.

The "reorganization project", presented Wednesday to staff representatives, "plans 1,293 net job cuts within the group's headquarters functions", indicates Casino in a press release.

The group's historic headquarters would remain in Saint-Etienne (center-east) "1,010 positions out of 1,564 current ", specifies Casino.

To the 1,293 net reductions within the group's headquarters functions could be added, "failing to find buyers", up to 1,974 positions eliminated if the hypermarkets and supermarkets which have not been sold to other distributors – Intermarché, Auchan, Carrefour – as well as certain logistics platforms, cannot find buyers by the end of September.
