Using a wooden board, an overexcited TaM user breaks the windshield of a tram in Montpellier

Les faits ont eu lieu ce lundi 19 août aux alentours de 11 heures dans le quartier Saint-Éloi à Montpellier.

A tram driver on line 1 was attacked on Monday, August 19, around 11 a.m. at the “Université des Sciences et Lettres de Montpellier” station in the Saint-Éloi district.

An individual, apparently psychologically fragile, attacked him by insulting and threatening him. Then the perpetrator got off the train, picked up a wooden board nearby and struck the windshield several times, cracking it in several places.

Right of withdrawal

The accused then tried to set fire to the train. In vain. Then he fled. An investigation is underway to try to identify him. As for the driver, who was extremely shocked, he exercised his right of withdrawal. The damage is estimated at €6,000.
