Valentine's Day: Tom Brady posts an enigmatic message of love after his divorce from Gisele Bündchen

MISE À DAY

On this Valentine's Day, newly retired quarterback Tom Brady shared a photo of a mysterious love quote on Instagram. Several netizens speculate that he is referring to his divorce from his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen.

Having announced his divorce from model Gisele Bündchen last October, it is obvious that the feast of love will be very different for the football player this time.

On his Instagram page, Tom Brady posted a 24-hour snapshot of a quote from Sadhguru, a yoga expert and humanitarian, stating, “Love is not a transaction; it's a certain exuberance and sweetness of your emotion.”

Thus, Brady could be referring to the transactional aspect of marriage. Indeed, Brady and Bündchen revealed on social media in October that their divorce was finalized after 13 years together.

During their union, the pair had two children, daughter Vivian, 10, and son Benjamin, 13. Brady also shares 15-year-old son Jack with his ex, actress Bridget Moynahan.

The reason behind Brady and Bündchen's split is not yet known, as the ex-partners haven't spoken about it publicly, yet. Sources say Brady deciding not to retire last year played a part.

Several American media revealed in September, shortly before the divorce announcement, that the NFL legend and the former Victoria's Secret angel had been at odds for months.

In the public eye, Brady and Bündchen appear to be on good terms. After Brady announced he was putting his cleats away for good in an emotional social media video, the 42-year-old model sent a glowing message to the seven-time Super Bowl winner.

“Wishing you wonderful things in this new chapter of your life,” Gisele Bündchen replied to her Instagram post.

Tom Brady's retirement announcement came nearly two weeks after he and his Buccaneers teammates were eliminated from the playoffs by the Cowboys.

After his divorce, Brady rented a luxury apartment worth $70,000 per month. Additionally, the former football player is reportedly not dating anyone at the moment, much to the chagrin of his friends.

Brady, who turns 46 in August, will join Fox's sports network as a as the NFL's senior game analyst, after signing a major $375 million contract last May.
