Vasek Pospisil absent for several months

Canadian Vasek Pospisil will be away from the ATP Tour for a few months as he struggles with health issues.
This is what the 111th racquet in the world said Thursday through his Twitter account. He did not specify the nature of his concerns.
“For health reasons, I will be absent from the circuit for three or four months, he wrote. Difficult news, but that's part of the game. I hope to be back in competition soon. I will take this time to work on other projects and spend time with my friends and family. Thank you for the support as always.”
Pospisil has taken part in five tournaments in 2023 and he has not taken half measures. Eliminated on four occasions and in his first match, he reached the final of the other event, the Challenger in Koblenz, Germany. He then bowed to the Russian Roman Safiullin (83rd), on February 5.
Tuesday, the 32-year-old British Columbian lost against the German Mats Moraing (284th) in two sets of 6-4 and 7-6 (5) in 97 minutes in Cherbourg, France.
