It’s day screening, Thursday, at Mercier, in Montérégie, after the recent detection of 18 cases of COVID-19 in the locality.
From 9: 30 to 16: 00, the citizens can go and get tested at the centre communautaire René-Tougas, where a maximum of 500 tests will be carried out.
Early in the morning, 200 people were waiting for the opening of the clinic in a day.
The mayor of Mercier, Lise Michaud, had required that a clinical screening to be deployed for its citizens, visibly worried by this new outbreak.
“Several people have decided to wear the mask because they are concerned and worried. The more it’s going to be tests, more people will be reassured,” said Ms. Michaud, in an interview with TVA News.
Although tests are being carried out at the Centre hospitalier Anna-Laberge in Châteauguay, the mayor of Mercier wished to have a screening more solid and quick.
Two festivals held at Sainte-Clotilde, and St. Chrysostom are to the source of this new outbreak. The end of last week, customers carrying the virus, went to the bar Mile Public House, at the DIX30 in Brossard.
