Russia says it has arrested three “terrorists” who wanted to attack a church

Russian authorities have arrested three people in southern Ingushetia, accused of planning an attack on a church in Sunja, and identified as members of the Islamic State. A criminal investigation has been opened, and explosives have been found in the homes of other suspects.

Russian fuel depot on fire after drone attack governor

A fire is raging at a fuel depot in Russia's Rostov region following an overnight attack by Ukrainian drones, Rostov Governor Vasily Golubev said on his Telegram account on Wednesday. The Russian Defense Ministry reported on its Telegram account the destruction of four drones over the Rostov region, without mentioning the attack on the fuel depot. According to the Baza Telegram channel, which is close to the Russian security services, at least three tankers are on fire at a depot in the Kamensky district. Videos posted on Russian social media showed large tanks on fire. Reuters was able to geolocate one of these videos in the district concerned.

At least six people were killed in Ukraine overnight from Monday to Tuesday by Russian missiles and drones

In Kryvyi Rih, three people died in the destruction of a hotel. In Zaporizhzhia, three more people died and four were injured in drone attacks. Air defense systems in kyiv were activated to repel missiles and drones. The Ukrainian Air Force destroyed five missiles and 60 drones out of 91 fired.

NATO-Ukraine Council meets

Jens Stoltenberg is hosting a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council, at Kiev's request. The Ukrainian Defense Minister will hold a video conference with allies on the situation on the battlefield.

Zelensky to present Biden with plan to end war

Zelensky will present Biden and potential successors with a plan to force Russia to end the war. He hopes to travel to the United States in September for the United Nations General Assembly. Domestic arms production is growing, with a first successful Ukrainian ballistic missile test.
