In an interview with El Chiringuito, Lamine Yamal's father confided in the attack he suffered on the evening of August 14.

“Thank God, I am now in a rest room and I feel a little. “Thank you all,” he said by phone.

"I saw myself between life and death, of course I'm afraid. Like any human being. I don't know when I will be released from the hospital, but I hope it will be as soon as possible. I'm grateful to be able to talk again", he continued.

Left from the hospital two days after the attack

The father of rising Spanish football star Lamine Yamal was released from hospital on Friday two days after being stabbed in his town of Mataró, in Catalonia (north-east) , according to images from a television channel.

The images from Antena 3 show Mounir Nasraoui surrounded by friends in the neighbourhood of this city, about 30 km north of Barcelona, ​​where Yamal grew up and where part of his family still lives.

The father of Lamine Yamal, 17, FC Barcelona striker and crowned European champion in July with Spain, also posted messages on social networks thanking his relatives and the police officers who intervened after his attack. He particularly praised the officer who “sealed the wound on the chest from which the most blood was leaking”.

Four people arrested

Four people arrested after the attack also appeared before a judge on Friday, who kept one of the suspects in pre-trial detention and released the others under judicial supervision.

The investigation has been opened for injuries and attempted homicide. Mounir Nasraoui was stabbed several times on Wednesday evening in a car park in the Rocafonda district.

According to the Barcelona daily La Vanguardia, the events allegedly occurred after an argument with men who had approached him while he was walking his dog and who had returned to attack him. He was hospitalized in a serious but stable condition.

Yamal made his debut at FC Barcelona in 2023 at the age of 15 and has since established himself as one of the greatest talents in world football.

His father became famous during Euro 2024, which Yamal won with Spain, thanks to his posts on social networks and media appearances.
