The joint candidate of the New Popular Front (NFP) for the post of Prime Minister, Lucie Castets, took part in a selection to become a ball girl at the Roland-Garros tournament. She was 15 at the time and had impressed with her determination.

An impressive application and an equally impressive mentality, describes a journalist from Ouest-France about the young Lucie Castets, 15, in an article published in 2002.

That year, in January, the current candidate of the New Popular Front for Prime Minister took part in a selection organized in Honfleur, in Calvados, to become a ball girl at Roland-Garros.

“Dream fulfilled”

“I'm going to do my best to succeed, but we'll see…", shares the teenager on France 3 in her very first TV appearance. The young Lucie Castets will pass the selection with flying colors, fulfilling her “dream". The future ENA graduate is one of the few selected.

“Combines qualities”

The daily newspaper Ouest-France, quoted in the INA article, then published a portrait that was full of praise for her. “Lucie combines qualities. […] Playing tennis, of course, but also handball and climbing. And above all, an application and a mentality that are almost surprising in a young teenager."
