Les premiers flocons de neige de la saison ont été vus sur le sommet de Finiels (1 699 m d’altitude), ce vendredi 13 septembre 2024.
The first flakes of the 2024/2025 season fell on Lozère on Friday, September 13, early in the morning. They were filmed by a Météo Languedoc team on the Finiels summit, the highest point in the department, on Mont Lozère, at an altitude of 1,699 m, where a temperature of – 1 °C was recorded.

The observers filmed the first snow from 6 am, posted at 1 540 m altitude, and commented, regarding the occurrence of this climatic event on September 13: "This happened in the past, but it has become very rare in recent years.“
“It's magnificent”
Around 9:20 a.m., the snowfall intensifies: “The flakes fall from 1,300 m, it's magnificent”, comments Météo Languedoc.

According to Météo France, a few flakes could also fall in the far north of the department this morning, Friday, September 13, 2024; this afternoon, temperatures will range from 6 to 16 °C. The weekend should then remain cool, but sunny.
