The three-time reigning world champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull) won with a lead of less than a second against Lando Norris (McLaren) during the Emilia Romagna Formula Grand Prix. 1, Sunday May 19, Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) completing the podium.

In the drivers' championship, Verstappen now has a lead of 48 points over his new runner-up Leclerc. The Monegasque overtook the other Red Bull in the championship, that of the Mexican Sergio Pérez, who failed to finish in an anonymous 8th place. The French from the Alpine team Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly finished 14th and 16th and therefore leave Italy without a point.
