The Croatian Borna Coric qualified for the final of the Open Sud de France in Montpellier, Saturday February 3, thanks to the retirement of Holger Rune while the latter was led 3-6, 1-4 in this second semi-final.

In the final this Sunday, Coric (37th in the world) will face Alexander Bublik (27th), winner of Felix Auger-Aliassime in the other semi-final (4-6, 6 -4, 6-4). The two men only faced each other once, during the round of 32 in Halle, a grass tournament won by Bublik straight away.

For his part, Holger Rune, seeded N.1 in this tournament, lost in the semi-final, like last year when he was beaten by Maxime Cressy.

Hit in the right arm

Coming to Montpellier to get back into the rhythm of matches after his defeat in the second round of the Australian Open against Arthur Cazaux, Holger Rune felt pain in his back ;right forearm, which prevented him from finishing this semi-final.

Exited under the whistles of the Sud de France Arena, the Dane was led 3-6, 1-4 by Coric before stopping, not being able to serve normally .
