Table tennis player Félix Lebrun, double bronze medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, had the honor of being the first athlete decorated by the President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron in front of the Arc de Triomphe, Saturday, September 14 during the champions' parade.

It was quite an honor that the Montpellier native received from the hands of the President of France himself, Emmanuel Macron. Like all the medalists present at the ceremony in front of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, Félix Lebrun was decorated. Just like Flora Vautier from Nîmes some time later, thanks to her bronze medal in para table tennis.

The youngest of the Lebrun brothers was specifically decorated as a knight of the National Order of Merit, as were all the bronze and silver medalists, while the gold medalists were decorated with the Legion of Honor.

Emmanuel Macron also decorated with his own hands the Toulousains Léon Marchand and Antoine Dupont as well as the Paralympic boccia champion, Aurélie Aubert in front of the ovation of the public gathered at the Rond-Point de l'Etoile.

Deschamps for Villeroux

All were cited by different presenters during this beautiful ceremony at the end of the champions’ parade. Alexis Lebrun, also a bronze medalist in Paris, was honored by Jean-Philippe Gatien, Sérignanais Anthony Jeanjean (BMX) was cited and decorated by Anne Hidalgo, Gardoise Shirine Boukli was appointed by the resigning Minister of Sports, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra.

While Montpellier native Frédéric Villeroux was honored by Didier Deschamps, after being crowned Paralympic champion with the team France blind football, he was the captain of the Blues and decisive throughout the tournament.
