VIDEO. “They need to find a family quickly”: 20 malnourished puppies from an illegal breeding farm taken in by the SPA

The animal shelter located in Larmor-Plage, near Lorient (Morbihan), recovered 20 puppies this Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from an illegal breeding.

The SPA (Save, Protect, Love) shelter in Lorient (Morbihan), located in Larmor-Plage, welcomed 20 puppies this Tuesday, October 8, 2024. Among them, 16 Brittany spaniels (ten males and six females) and six griffon crosses (two males and two females), reports Ouest-France.

They arrived without being vaccinated, chipped or dewormed. A veterinarian therefore went to the site this Thursday, October 10. When they arrived "they were malnourished. The breeders were clearly feeding them bread", s’protests Sara Gourden, director of the S.P.A.

The puppies up for adoption

They were not victims of violence because "they are not fearful. They are, on the contrary, very playful". For people wishing to adopt one of them (315 euros per puppy), it will be possible from this Friday, October 10. "The puppies need to find a family quickly. They need to be socialized as quickly as possible", she explains.

A choice that must be "carefully considered. You have to devote time to it and know that you are committing for about ten years. Each of them aspires to only one thing: to give the love they have not had until now", she concludes.
