First tensions

While it was supposed to be silent and non-violent, a huge demonstration is currently taking place in the streets of Valencia and the tension is gradually rising. Flares have been launched in the direction of the town hall, reports the Spanish media outlet El Pais. The French news channel BFMTV, who has a special correspondent on the scene, reports that clashes have broken out.

“Mazón, dimissió“, is the slogan referring to the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, of the Popular Party. He is particularly visible in the procession on banners and placards. Images and videos of crowded streets full of people are multiplying on social networks.

No less than 130,000 people were counted this Saturday evening in the streets of the Spanish city demonstrating.
