Journey

After their success against Nantes at home (3-2), eight days ago, the Montpellier residents spent a lot of time on the road, in the MHSC football players' bus loaned for the occasion. They first went to Tours for the first play-off match on Tuesday (3-2 defeat) before returning to Montpellier in the night, taking advantage of the MHSC facilities for recovery and leaving for Paris, taking advantage of a 24-hour stopover in Orléans. The Héraultais finally arrived in the capital on Saturday, the day before the match.

Whatever the winner will be unpublished. Nantes-Rezé has never won the Cup, just like MHSC VB despite two finals played in 2008 and 2010. Note that the only player on the Montpellier squad to have won the Coupe de France is the passer Raphaël Corre, with Chaumont in 2022.

Saturday evening, in the same room, Nantes beat Mulhouse (3-0) in the final of the Women's French Cup. Since yesterday, several encouraging videos were published on the MHSC VB social networks. In one of them, we see footballers Jordan Ferri, Téji Savanier and their teammates wishing their volleyball counterparts a good final. Julien Lyneel, French champion with Montpellier in 2022, also sent a video from Brazil where he started his beach volleyball season.

It's necessary in the capital and the MHSC players took advantage of it a few hours before the final. They did a muscular awakening in the morning in a park not far from the room. Some even played table tennis as a wink to Montpellier residents Félix and Alexis Lebrun.
