Volleyball: Montpellier and Sète are fixed on the subject of the calendar in League A, the first Hérault derby will take place on November 9 in Castelnau

A cinq semaines du début du championnat, la Ligue Nationale de volley-ball (LNV) a enfin publié le calendrier de la Ligue A masculine. Décryptage pour le MHSC VB et l’Arago de Sète qui jouera ses matchs à domicile dans trois salles différentes.

It was about time. The calendar for the men's Ligue A, called Marmara Spikeligue since last season, was unveiled this Friday by the National League. The institution had to deal with Nantes' withdrawal and organize a 2024-2025 season with 13 clubs instead of 14.

The season will officially begin with the Super Cup match between Saint-Nazaire, 2024 French champion, and Montpellier, finalist of the Coupe de France who replaced Nantes at short notice, who withdrew for the entire season. The match will take place in… Nantes, on September 21.

The following weekend will be followed by the first day of the championship. MHSC VB will have a lot to do away to Tours, on the court of the vice-champion of France, on Saturday September 28 at 7 p.m.

Arago, three rooms, three atmospheres

Meanwhile, Arago de Sète will be exempted from the first day and will enter the competition on October 6 at 5 p.m. at the Palais des sports in Béziers. Indeed, with the Halle du Barrou being under construction, the club from the singular island will play its home matches in three different venues this season: in Béziers against the Northerners, on November 30 against Chaumont, on January 12 against Montpellier and on March 16 against Narbonne.

Two Sète receptions will take place at the Palais des sports in Castelnau-le-Lez, the home of the MHSC VB: on November 16 against Saint-Nazaire and on January 25 against Toulouse.

The rest of the matches at Arago's home games will take place at the Maurice-Vié gymnasium, starting with the one against Poitiers on Sunday, October 20 (5 p.m.).

In this same venue, Montpellier will play their first home game of the season against Nice on October 5 at 8 p.m. for the second day of the championship.

In terms of derbies in the first leg, MHSC VB will travel to Narbonne on October 26 (8 p.m.), before hosting Arago de Sète on November 9 at 8 p.m. The people of Sète will go to Narbonne on December 7th.
