Les Béziers Angels seront à Mulhouse, ce mardi soir (20h), pour la première manche des quarts de finale du championnat.

Almost a year to the day after igniting the halls of the Halle Carpentier in Paris, by winning the 2023 edition of the Coupe de France, the Béziers Angels would once again like to write a great page in the history of volleyball -ball and regional sport. An ambition and trophy dreams that the Béziers volleyball players will have to carry until the grand final next month (editor's note: Tuesday 23 and Friday 26 April).

Nothing to lose in Mulhouse

But while waiting to reach this final stage and get a little closer to a new French champion title, after the one won in 2018, it's a first major obstacle that will present itself to them, this Tuesday, March 26, in the Grand-Est. Confident after their success last weekend against Marcq-en-Baroeul, Manon Bernard and her teammates are indeed preparing to launch the final straight of the championship with two first trips to Mulhouse, to the vice-champion of France in title.

"Being present in the fight and the state of mind"

Without real pressure and with the sole ambition of striking a very big blow in these AF League quarter-finals. "If we manage to win at least that one of our two trips, we could already have a small advantage. In this configuration, it is mainly Mulhouse which will have the pressure on these first two meetings. It will be up to us to do everything to try to bring something back and put ourselves in a slightly more favorable position before hosting the third match in our room, confides coach Fabien Simondet, a few hours away of this first meeting on Alsatian soil. It will absolutely be necessary to be present in the fight and the state of mind. I think that the team that puts the most energy on the field will leave with a big advantage for qualification […] I want the girls to let loose and play at 200’ ;nbsp;%."

Kick-off this Tuesday March 26 (8 p.m.) at the Palais des Sports in Mulhouse.

The Béziers Angels program:

Unlike previous editions, the quarter-finals will this time be played in the best of five matches: matches 1 (26 March) and 2 (April 2) with the highest ranked team, matches 3 (April 5) and 4 (April 7) with the lowest ranked team and match 5 (April 10), if it takes place, on the floor of the highest ranked team. At the end of these confrontations, the club having totaled é three wins will qualify for the semi-finals of the competition.
