Why did you decide to separate from Lorenzo Tubertini ?

For several weeks, I felt that the team had fallen apart and was playing less good volleyball. I was forced to note that the transplant did not take place with Lorenzo Tubertini. The players had difficulty with what he offered them. He needs time to implement his methods but we don't have any since we intend to do well this season.

Did the players let go of the coach ?

No, the players adapt, they are professional, they say nothing. It’s a collegial reflection, I spoke about it with the club’s leaders. I told Lorenzo that the players weren't finding themselves in what he wanted to do. I didn't see any progression in the game. I was worried about the rest of the season.

The press release published on your website on Thursday mentions a separation by mutual agreement but it was you who made the decision…

This was discussed very calmly. I read that he was fired, that's not true. I suggested to him that we put an end to the collaboration, he told me that he agreed. A discussion between responsible people.

Loic Le Marrec, Lorenzo Tubertini's assistant, is the new coach. But until when ?

Loïc has the abilities, he has already been a coach but also assistant to Laurent Tillie in the French team. He knows the high level. This is a temporary job until the end of the season. He responded favorably to be of service to the club. I favored the internal solution even if I had proposals as soon as the rumor circulated. But I would not have parted ways with Lorenzo for another coach from outside. I did it because Loïc could take over.

Despite the change of coach, do you maintain your ambitions, namely a top 4 in the championship with the objective of winning a title this season ?

The objectives set at the start of the season remain the same. I told Loïc. The quality of the workforce allows us to have ambitions. Individually, we have high quality players, so it is legitimate that we have high objectives.
