Israeli forces withdrew from the Al Chifa hospital in Gaza after a two-week operation, the Israeli army announced on Monday, April 1.

Hundreds of residents flocked to the Al Shifa neighborhood, the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip before the war, to see the damage caused to the large residential neighborhoods around it of the establishment, in the heart of Gaza City.

Hamas denies any armed presence in hospitals

The Israeli army said it killed hundreds of armed men in clashes in the hospital area and seized weapons and intelligence documents. Hamas and medical personnel deny any armed presence in hospitals.

Images posted on social media showed bodies of Palestinians lying on the floor of the building, some wrapped in dirty blankets. However, the authenticity of these videos could not be verified by Reuters.
