Ukraine hopes to get billions at reconstruction conference

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday he hoped to reach agreements worth billions of euros during the conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine being held in Berlin. "We will leave this conference with agreements covering billions of euros for our defense, for the production of military equipment and weapons in Ukraine, and for our energy, for the repair and construction of a new and more modern energy system", the President of Ukraine said.

Volodimir Zelensky also said he expected part of the funds to be spent on educational needs, reconstruction of houses and supply of medical equipment. 

Scholz urges Westerners to strengthen Ukraine's air defense

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Tuesday urged Western allies to strengthen Ukraine's air defense, which sorely needs it in the face of Russian shelling, during an international conference in Berlin in the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

"What the Ukrainian army needs most today is ammunition and weapons, especially for defense air ", he declared, recalling in particular that Berlin has decided to deliver a third Patriot air defense system. "I would like to ask everyone here today to support our Ukrainian air defense initiative, with everything possible", he said.

Zelensky sees more air defenses as "the answer" to stop Russia
