Two journalists were injured and a third disappeared under the rubble after a Russian strike on a hotel in Kramatorsk, eastern Ukraine, on the night of Saturday to Sunday, August 25, 2024, regional authorities announced.

"A hotel was targeted in the city. “Two people are currently injured and one person is under the rubble,” Donetsk region head Vadym Filashkin wrote on Telegram.

“The three victims are journalists, citizens of Ukraine, the United States and the United Kingdom,” he added, without specifying which ones are injured or which one is missing.

Rescue operations underway

The attack, which damaged the hotel and a nearby building, took place "in the middle of the night", Mr. Filachkin continued. “Police and emergency workers are working at the scene. “The rubble is being cleared and rescue operations are underway,” he added.
