The heat will persist in most regions of Quebec until at least Tuesday.
Environment Canada expects temperatures ranging between 27 and 34 degrees Celsius, but with a high humidex.
In Montreal, a maximum of 34 degrees Celsius is expected, with a rate humidex of 40. The morning sun gave way to some clouds with a 30% chance of showers in the afternoon.
The sky will be sunny the rest of the week with temperatures less scorching, as they will be below 30 degrees Celsius.
Concerned by the warning of heat, the Laurentians, Lanaudière and the Montérégie will be a risk of a thunderstorm on the afternoon of Monday when the mercury reached a maximum of 31 degrees Celsius.
The same situation will apply also on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the federal agency.
In Quebec, the eastern Townships, the Beauce and the Mauricie, the warning of heat will be in force. Maximum temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius are expected, but with the high humidity, we will have a humidex of 40.
In these regions, we expect a 60% chance of showers on Tuesday.
On the other hand, in Rimouski, Témiscouata, Kamouraska, there will be alternations of sun and clouds with temperatures of 31 degrees Celsius and a humidex of 31 to 38 on Monday and Tuesday.
