Swimming has been banned on Couchant beach in La Grande-Motte since late Sunday afternoon, August 11. The town hall of the seaside resort issued a municipal decree to ban access to the Mediterranean between entrances 33 and 42, due to temporary pollution.
Bathers in the water, despite everything
The ban is active for an indefinite period, specifies the city on its Facebook account, and invites beach users to respect the ban. It was a hydrocarbon slick that was detected, specifies the municipality. This Monday, August 12, however, there were people in the water, as several witnesses noted.
