This Wednesday, July 31, the Lamalou-les-Bains Lyric Festival opens its doors, and this until August 18. Existing since 1880, it is the largest French festival of musical theater, operetta and opera. Organised by the municipality in collaboration with TLA production, the event brings together artists from all over the world for three weeks of concerts and discoveries, or rediscoveries, of international talents.“The configuration of the festival, which was organized by TLA, allows us to bring together many artists for the occasion, and therefore, to offer a wide variety of styles”, explains Eva Larco, in charge of communication and cultural events for the city.

“We always have great feedback”

The event, which has been anchored in musical culture for many years, attracts a lot of spectators.”“We are in demand all over France, regulars are often present, such as associations for example”, congratulates Eva Larco, present for her third edition. This year stands out from the others thanks to a new feature: the casino. Reopened last November, it is one of the partners of this festival. It will host the festival off, with a total of 3 performances including a free concert. A large number of new performers are expected, in addition to some artists who have been present for many years, favorites of regulars. "For this edition, we have many new faces, but also some older ones. Claude Deschamps for example is one of our audience's favorites, we get asked about it every time!".

With its position as the largest opera festival in France, but also with its various free performances, this gathering is the ideal time to experience this musical universe that is too little highlighted. “We have a rather older clientele, which is a shame because it is a world that deserves to be discovered. Thanks to the accessibility of the event, we really hope to be able to arouse the curiosity of children and young adults”, confides the communications manager. More than a gathering of regulars, these three weeks of shows, open to all, allow you to open up to new practices and discover the territory that hosts them.
