It wasn't easy, but the Canadiens started their four-game journey on the right foot, savoring their first win on an opposing rink this season.

“I am very happy with the result. It's rare that you play a perfect game. Tonight we had our ups and downs, but we found a way to win. ”

After Juraj Slafkovsky and Arber Xhekaj, last week it was Kaiden Guhle's turn to score his first goal. A superb one-timer shot, which beat Eric Comrie in the top of the net.

“I received a splendid pass from “Savvy” [David Savard]. I cocked my shot and let him go. I am happy to have helped the team win. ”

– Kaiden Guhle

Speaking of Savard, the veteran played another strong game. The Canadian's most used player (22 min 49s), he blocked four shots in addition to being an accomplice to two goals: those of Guhle and Josh Anderson.

< em>“He is a very intelligent player. He has a constant presence on the ice. He's known for his defensive work, for the shots he blocks, but he doesn't get enough recognition for what he does offensively.”

In the seconds before his goal, Josh Anderson had missed a first golden opportunity to give the Canadian the lead. Instead of giving up, he and his linemates redoubled their efforts to finally hit the target.

“I saw the net open in front of me . Their keeper made an incredible save. But we stayed focused, we continued our presence and, luckily, I had the opportunity to recover. ”

– Josh Anderson
